Purchasing Clerk - Manufacturing

Job Summary: To support and maintain purchasing procedures and participate in the sourcing and purchasing of materials.
- Create purchase orders
- Interact with vendors and vendor salesperson both in person and on the telephone
- Place orders with vendors
- Supports physical inventory.
- Interact with the Receiving department
- Analyze prices, discounts and delivery dates
- Make purchasing recommendations
- Set up contract pricing and obtain cost savings with suppliers
- Understand Inventory Control System and capable of conducting the physical inventory Mandatory every Month (Sat)
- Able to lead plant physical inventory Mandatory every Month (Sat)
- Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluates and reports information to Supervisor/Manager on vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in purchasingor supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a purchasing clerk or in a similar role within themanufacturing industry.
- Sound knowledge of procurement processes, principles, and best practices.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, withexperience working with purchasing software or ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracyin purchase orders and records.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build andmaintain relationships with suppliers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meetdeadlines.
- Knowledge of manufacturing materials and components would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
